FAQ
Everything you need to know about Biscuit
Biscuit is a screen time management app that helps you build healthier phone habits through a virtual pet. Your pet lamb gets tired as you use distracting apps, and you earn in-app biscuits by completing real-world tasks to keep your pet happy and restore screen time.
Biscuit monitors your screen time and ties it to your virtual pet's energy. The more you use distracting apps, the more tired Biscuit gets. When energy runs out, those apps get blocked. Complete real-world tasks — like reading, exercising, or cleaning — to earn biscuits and restore your pet's energy.
Biscuit is free to download but requires a subscription to unlock all features. Subscription options include a monthly plan for $9.99 or a yearly plan for $59.99. Your subscription covers AI-powered photo verification for task completion, full screen time tracking, app blocking, and access to the pet shop. A limited free trial is available so you can try Biscuit before committing.
Take a photo of a real-world task you want to do — like reading a book, going for a walk, or tidying up. Your phone locks for a duration you choose, and when the timer ends, you earn biscuits as a reward. The longer the task, the more biscuits you earn.
Feed biscuits to your pet to restore energy and unlock more screen time. You can also visit the in-app shop to buy accessories like hats and glasses, room decorations for your pet's home, and even unlock new pet companions.
Yes. When your pet's energy is fully depleted from too much screen time, all restricted apps are blocked until you earn more biscuits and restore energy. This creates a natural incentive to put your phone down and complete real-world tasks.
You start with Biscuit the lamb, who has an energy bar that depletes as you use distracting apps. Feed your pet biscuits to restore energy. Your pet also has a level and XP system — the more tasks you complete, the higher your level. Keep your pet happy by staying focused and completing daily quests.
Yes! You start with Biscuit the lamb, but you can unlock additional pet companions in the shop using the biscuits you earn. Each new pet is a fresh companion to take care of and motivate you to stay focused.
Quests are daily challenges that reward you with bonus biscuits when completed. They encourage you to build consistent habits — things like completing a certain number of tasks, staying under your screen time limit, or maintaining a streak. Completing all daily quests earns you a bonus reward.
Your privacy is our top priority. Screen time data, task photos, and personal information all stay on your device. We don't collect, store, or sell your personal data to third parties. Everything is processed locally on your phone.
Yes! Biscuit integrates with Apple Health so your steps and physical activity count towards completing tasks. Health data is accessed read-only and is never shared or stored externally.
Biscuit is available for iPhone and requires a recent version of iOS. It works seamlessly with Apple's Screen Time API for accurate usage tracking and app blocking.
Not yet — Biscuit is currently iOS only. We're exploring Android development for the future. Stay tuned for updates.
Biscuit can block any app on your device that you mark as distracting. You choose which apps are restricted, and Biscuit handles the rest based on your pet's energy level.
Biscuit uses Apple's Screen Time API to monitor your app usage. The Stats screen shows your daily screen time, top apps, time spent offline, and a weekly pet health calendar so you can track your progress over time.
Most screen time apps just show you numbers and shame you into using your phone less. Biscuit takes a different approach — it makes putting your phone down actually fun. By caring for a virtual pet and earning rewards through real-world tasks, you're motivated by something positive rather than guilt.
First, make sure Biscuit has the necessary Screen Time permissions enabled in your device settings. If apps aren't blocking or unblocking correctly, try closing and reopening Biscuit, then restart your device if needed. Also check that you don't have conflicting iOS Screen Time limits set up separately.
You can adjust your daily screen time goal in the app's settings. This sets the maximum amount of screen time before your pet's energy runs out. Start with a realistic target and gradually reduce it as you build better habits.
Biscuit tracks your daily streaks — consecutive days where you stay under your screen time goal and keep your pet healthy. The Stats screen shows your current streak and weekly pet health calendar. Maintaining a streak is a great way to stay motivated.
Many people don't realize they spend 4-7 hours daily on their phones. A screen time app like Biscuit helps you become aware of your habits and take control. Instead of mindless scrolling, you'll be completing real-world tasks, caring for your pet, and building habits that improve your focus, sleep, and well-being.
